Major Road Upgrade Improves Connectivity for Clyde North

News

The major $83.5 million infrastructure project has transformed one of the area’s busiest intersections, replacing the former roundabout with a new signalised intersection featuring additional traffic lanes, upgraded bus infrastructure and new walking and cycling connections.

The upgrade is expected to improve safety and traffic flow for approximately 47,000 drivers each day, helping make everyday travel through this rapidly growing part of Melbourne’s south-east easier and more efficient.

For current and future residents of Perch Clyde North, the completion of the project is another positive step in the continued investment occurring throughout the wider Clyde and Clyde North region.

Conveniently positioned within this growing community, Perch offers residents access to established and emerging schools, shopping, recreation and transport connections. Major infrastructure projects such as the Thompsons Road and Berwick-Cranbourne Road upgrade will further support accessibility as the surrounding area continues to develop.

The project has also delivered new pedestrian and cycling paths, providing additional options for people travelling through the area without a car.

Further improvements are underway nearby, with the Clyde Road Upgrade also progressing. This project will widen the Princes Freeway overpass from six to10 lanes and is designed to improve journeys for around 30,000 vehicles each day.

Together with completed upgrades to roads including Thompsons Road, Narre Warren-Cranbourne Road, Hall Road and the Western Port Highway, these projects represent significant ongoing investment in transport infrastructure across Melbourne’s growing south-east.

For Perch residents, these improvements complement the community’s location and reinforce Clyde North as an increasingly well-connected place to call home.
